Second thoughts on the Duke rape case...

I've tried to reserve judgment in the Duke University rape case but with the most recent news, I'm beginning to wonder if there's a case at all, at least against two members of the LaCrosse team. The defense attorneys have been talking often since this case began and they are very insistent that their clients are innocent. In this CNN story, the defense attorneys claim they have some pretty credible evidence that the boys were elsewhere, and specifically that Seligmann could not have been at the scene of the alleged crime.

Ok, no Seligmann and also no DNA.

How is it possible there was no evidence of DNA on that woman or her clothing? She said she was gang raped by four men right? Yet there is no evidence of her DNA (or theirs) in the bathroom where it allegedly took place.

Sure she could have been assaulted, but the question is was it perpetrated by the people being accused? Some might say she may have been mistaken in her memory of the incident and inadvertently accused the wrong boys. The thing is, she was shown photos of the boys and she picked them out of the photos, not out of a random lineup. There's little chance this was just a simple error.

I know, I know, reserve judgment....but I am having some serious doubts here. I just don't believe the lawyers are blowing smoke because if there was real evidence one or both was there, any good attorney would be spending this time trying to come up with a valid defense like for instance "consensual sex". At least that defense could be feasible. Maybe not entirely believable, but feasible.

The thing is, since day one, the lawyers have insisted the boys did not do it. I'm now beginning to wonder myself.

There's something else that bothers me. Duke's own President stated the team had a "history of boorish behavior and underage drinking" and what I have to wonder is why the coaches and staff on up to the President knew about this behavior and did nothing to curb it. If the President of the University knows his athletes are breaking the law and wreaking havoc, why wasn't it stopped? Is the LaCrosse team's record that good it would exempt them from punishment?

I guess it's now obvious why the team's schedule was suspended so quickly and why their coach resigned shortly afterwards. Sounds to me like Duke is trying to cover its ass and I can't say I blame them. The President of the University is facing one hell of a lawsuit and my guess is that the rich and prestigious alumni who give generously each year, especially the rich old conservative widows, are not happy with the negative publicity surrounding this old and prestigious private university.

I suppose the truth will eventually come out and if those athletes really did commit the rape, they should be punished severely with a prison term. And if turns out the alleged victim lied, she should be face a prison term.....but that's not likely though as I am sure her defense will be that "society" forced her into becoming a stripper to make money to care for her child and go to school because there were no decent paying jobs for a young black woman in that area. And oh yes I am sure the white male persecution of young black women will come into play somewhere in that defense.

The thing about her lie is that it will reward her not with a prison term but with her college tuition and expenses paid in full by Jesse Jackson & the Rainbow Coalition.

One no longer has to think very hard to figure out what is wrong with America.

Very interesting case. I doubt the truth of the accusation myself. I wonder why I even care. If she hadn't been behaving like a whore, it wouldn't have happened. Also if they boys had not been acting like animals, it wouldn't have happened. Either way I look at it, all parties involved are stupid.--ST

  2. I think that both parties hold responsibility. If she was raped, they should pay dearly in prison. But I have to wonder what responsibility does she have in her actions?

  3. Also, I heard on the news the other night a police call in which they found the accuser passed out drunk and took her to sober up.

How can you identify anyone if you are that drunk?

I am a woman with daughters and it frightens me that anything could ever happen to them but I also have 2 boys.
Why can a woman accuse a man of something with no evidence, no witnesses, etc?

I think the courts should be allowed to handle it.

The DA is obviously courting votes and Jesse Jackson is an idiot.
To say that even if the boys are vindicated and the charges found to be false they will still pay her tuition?

    What the hell?

If it was a white girl raped by white boys? You would have barely seen a ripple.

If it was black on black? Never would have even heard anything about it.

    White girl black boys?
I cant even imagine how THAT would go down.

And Nancy Grace? She needs to SHUT UP.
She already has them tried and convicted!

Duke Lacrosse Rape Accuser Mentioned No Condoms Were Used
It seems the defense keeps finding more to support their side of things, with each new piece of information they get. Now from that stack of 1,300 papers, they have discovered that the stripper accuser mentioned no condoms were used. No condoms and…
The stripper’s body was completely void of any sign of a sexual assault (except for signs of recent vaginal and anal from her boyfriend). The alleged crime scene was completely devoid of DNA.

It is impossible that a crime scene with three drunk men in a small enclosed room with a fighting and clawing woman being orally, virginally, and anally penetrated not leave any DNA evidence of urine, blood, vaginal fluid, sweat, fecal matter, scat smears, saliva, tears, or semen... especially if condoms were used. How would they take off the condoms during all this chaos without spilling, smearing, or touching the content inside or outside of the condom?

When investigators questioned the stripper after DNA tests on the semen found inside her vagina and rectum didn’t match any of the Duke players, the stripper admitted to having had sex with at least three men around the time of the alleged rape. The stripper named her boyfriend and two men who drove her to Duke.

When questioned, the “drivers” said they would drop her off at several places, including hotel rooms.

It appears that the stripper has sex with men for rides to her strip shows…Nasty!

The stripper originally claimed that the second stripper helped with the rape!

Just when you think this case hit rock bottom, there’s about 50 feet of crap, then you find a sub-basement.

If Mike Nifong doesn't get disbarred after this, then there really is a corrupt system in Durham that protects rich white guys. In Nifong's case - stupid rich white guys with transparent political agendas, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Nifong can turn a pig's ear into a silk purse.
