More mudslinging at Palin...

Ok, I have read through the entire 120 page report and I can't find ANYTHING that supports the story during her term as Mayor, specifically in 1998, Sarah Palin forced rape victims in Wasilla Alaska to pay for their own rape kits.

According to the hundreds of reports out there, Police Chief Duwayne Charles Fannon, halved the budget request in 1997-1998, with a request of $7,298, spending $3,454. However, it seems he began the "victim pays" policy in the 1998-1999 fiscal year. That year, he requested $3,000 but spent only $205.

Well, according to the City of Wasilla's Crime Statistics website at

In 1994 there were 8 sexual assaults, in 95 there were 5, in 96 there were 3, in 97 there were 0, in 98 there was 1 and in 99 there was 1.

This would explain the reduction in the budget for services for rape victims. Based on the reduced number of rapes over a period of the years prior to 1998, when estimating their need it would have been only natural to believe they would not need as much money as in previous years. Given there was only one rape, (and not knowing exactly what work was done or what a rape kit costs), that could explain why only $205 was spent that year.

Sarah Palin has plenty of faults but I'm not jumping on the bandwagon and pinning this on her, no way.

  1. They do this because they are scared of her and this is another example of the media trying to manipulate an election. They report this shit with out any investigation what so ever to find out if any thing is true or not. They just don't care. Well they had better start caring because this lady will be the first woman president. I think she will make a damn good one.

Oh for goodness sake. I hadn't even heard that one yet. I'll second pa's comments.--ST

  3. It was mentioned on Fox news tonight that ALL of these rumors, from the book banning to the infidelity to her son's alleged drug habit have all come from unsubstantiated stories on the internet. It seems the MSM has failed to put any due diligence into these stories before perpetuating them. Like Pa said, they're afraid of her and I personally think she's gonna kick all kinds of ass when it comes to the debates and the rest of the campaign. Go Sarah!!
