Sir Paul has no class...

I've been staying away from discussing politics lately because it tends to be a no-win. But I've got to come out and say something. I think Paul McCartney is an ass. Yes, you heard it. He's one person I never really thought I would despise but all it takes is one stupid ass comment to change my mind. There he was in the White House, accepting an award from the Library of Congress, serenading the small audience, and afterwards, he thanks everyone by saying,

"It's a fantastic honor, for the Gershwin family to give me this incredible award and for me to be awarded it by the Library of Congress and in fact after the last eight years it's great to have a President who knows what a library is."

Now, exactly what is that supposed to mean?

You can decide for yourself what it means.

What it was--was just really rude and tacky behavior. He took a cheap shot (and for no reason mind you because our former President was NOT illiterate) at a former President during a non-political ceremony at the White House, in front of the President, his family and especially his two small children. And even worse, the audience laughed. Anyone there who had any class would have bowed their head in disgrace. I thought Obama and his people were above that. I guess not.

Can you imagine? If this had been during the Bush administration and a politically conservative musician was honored in the White House. First, can you imagine this person making this kind of comment? And second, can you imagine Bush and his audience laughing?

No, I can't.

Well first of all, a conservative simply wouldn't think to make such a remark. We tend to be polite, respectful, and we are used to keeping our thoughts to ourselves less we be branded a biggot, racist, homophobe, religious nut, or - well take your pic.

The irony here is that Sir Paul takes a swipe at Bush's intelligence when the man graduated from an Ivy League school with better grades than John "Nuanced" Kerry, yet Obama's transcripts remain hidden. So why does everyone assume Obama is so brilliant? His policies are hopelessly niave and reckless, he can't speak without a teleprompter, and he had to have Ayers bail him out by writing his book since he couldn't come up with anything himself in time for the Publisher.
He's an affirmative action president. Martin Luther King, Jr. must be rolling over in his grave.

Oh, I can totally believe the Obama audience laughed. Remember this is the White House that returned the bust of Winston Churchill! I guess they got Paul McCartney in exchange.~ST

  3. I expect Sir Paul, like many of us English people, misses George Bush as entertainment. We don't have any comedians who can impersonate Obama yet.
