Emmert suggests NCAA "death penalty"

After the most recent incident at the University of Miami, NCAA President Mark Emmert says he supports using the NCAA "death penalty" against schools where violations of NCAA rules occurs.  This penalty of last resort punishes a school by prohibiting it from participating in a sport.  I am really torn on the idea of punishing a school, a team and the fans by banishing the participation in a particular sport due to the bad ethics or mistakes of others.
