The Ravens disclaimer says their views don't necessarily represent the team's front office or coaching staff. Fair enough. So whose views do they represent? Who's tweeting? And why? Whether they like it or not, they do officially represent the team and everything they tweet has the possibility of positively or negatively impacting the Ravens organization.
In this case, the decision to tweet this was not a wise one. They may not be agreeing with what Palmer said, but they believe it was significant enough to tweet. By doing so, it gives the appearance that there's credibility in Janay Rice's statement. It makes Janay Rice seem somehow responsible for the incident.
Obviously in light of the video released, the Ravens thought tweeting this was a bad idea too because they deleted it a few hours ago.
Too little, too late.
