Don't engage the trolls.

Don't add fuel to the fire.

Don't get caught up in the drama.

Don't think twice about distancing yourself from the negativity.

Don't let yourself be dragged down by anyone.

Don't respond to assholes.

Don't think you have to put up with it.

Don't respond with arguing, cursing, or hate.

In fact, don't respond at all.

Don't worry.  Be happy.

We are in control...

One of the great joys in life is being in control of one's own life and destiny. We don't have to take anything we don't want to. People can only get to you if you let them. So the key is to be sure not to let them! Some people learn this lesson early in life, some later. The point is to learn it. :)

JFK's undelivered Austin speech is relevant a half century later...

"For this country is moving and it must not stop. It cannot stop. For this is a time for courage and a time for challenge. Neither conformity nor complacency will do. Neither the fanatics nor the faint-hearted are needed. And our duty as a party is not to our party alone, but to the Nation, and, indeed…to all mankind. Our duty is not merely the preservation of political power but the preservation of peace and freedom.

So let us not be petty when our cause is so great. Let us not quarrel amongst ourselves when our Nation's future is at stake. Let us stand together with renewed confidence in our cause--united in our heritage of the past and our hopes for the future--and determined that this land we love shall lead all mankind into new frontiers of peace and abundance."

---Excerpt of President John F. Kennedy's planned speech to the Texas Democratic State Committee in the Municipal Auditorium in Austin, November 22, 1963.
