As CNN reports in the link I posted below, the 2016 Election is breaking all the rules.
So what's changed? Why? People are angry and tired---of the lies, the
blame, the politics, the corruption, and the bullshit. Well, that's
nothing new but it's really much worse than I've ever seen it. In my
adult life, I have never known so many people who have no idea who they
will vote for and this comes from people from all parties. Many can't, in good conscience, vote for anyone in their own party nor anyone in the other parties.
In my opinion, if there was ever an election where the vote will be
more about the lesser of two evils than who is best qualified for the
job, this is the one. We're all at fault for this mess. So, how are we
going to fix it? For one, stop putting faith in politicians to fix
things. We the people...all of us...need to get off our asses and do our
part. A good start would be taking better care of ourselves and our
families; and reaching out to people in our communities and helping
them. It starts with people!!!!
So many things we rely on
government to do, we can do ourselves and we'd be much better at it. We
have the power, we don't need a law to tell us what's right and wrong,
we already know it. So let's just do it!
It's about helping ourselves and helping each other.
This isn't a Democrat THING or a Republican THING, this is a Human
THING. Do you realize how much better this nation would be if we just
took the time to do our share? To empower ourselves and help others so
they can be empowered too?
Human beings are so amazing--they are
resilient, strong, determined and they are survivors. And it's amazing
what they can accomplish when they work together. I truly believe that
"no man is an island" and that in order to achieve greatness, we have to
work together, ALL of us, without exclusion. Sure, we'll have
differences, we're human beings---we're rational, we have minds of our
own, we have free will...and that's how it should be. But having
differences doesn't mean we can't find common ground. Yes, there will
always be people who refuse to compromise but let's not let it get in
the way. We have to keep trying. If we stop trying, if we give up....we
don't even deserve this nation.
It's up to the people, not the politicians, to save America. Yes, we can do better. We have to.
